Our High schools project launched in 2016. It consists of 60 minute interactive sessions designed to help young people discuss six key topics over the first three years of their high school career. Each session is  desined to create an environment for young people to discuss these topics in a relevant and choice positive way.

Sessions are full of stories, games, activities and relevant subject knowledge. Each session has a minimum of 2 tutors. We run two Grade sessions each year and the project runs year on year so that we see each student once a year through the first three years of their high school career.

Lesson requirements :

  • Ideally 60 minutes long
  • Ideally the same room to reduce set up and pack down for multiple workshops.
  • Projector screen or blank wall for projector.
Grade 8,9,10,11 -20

Self Esteem

  • Students will learn what self-esteem means.
  • Students will learn and compare the difference between high, healthy and low self-esteem.
  • Students will consider different pressures affecting self-esteem linked to celebrity culture, different types of media, and relationships.
  • Students will identify their own positive qualities that make them unique.

Bullying

  • Students will learn what the different types of Bullying are.
  • Students will learn how it can affect the victim and the bully long term.
  • Students will experience the emotional side of bullying, not just the facts.
  • Students will identify their own value and the value of others.
Grade 8,9,10,11 -21

Healthy Relationships

  • Students will learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships.
  • Students will learn the dangers of sending or receiving indecent images.
  • Students will learn how societies view of relationships can be affected by the media.
  • Students will identify their own value and the value of others.

Relationships and Sex

  • Students will learn the importance of respecting sex as part of a healthy relationship.
  • Students will learn the consequences of sexual relationships.
  • Students will learn how pornography can influence both individuals in relationships and society as a whole.
  • Students will identify their own value and the value of others.
Grade 8,9,10,11 -22

Online Safety

  • Students will learn the benefits and dangers of social media.
  • Students will learn how to protect themselves online.
  • Students will consider the dangers of connecting and meeting strangers from online.
  • Students will identify their value and learn to protect themselves.

Pornography

  • Students will learn about the impact on the brain and behaviour of an individual as well as the effects for society as a whole.
  • Students will understand the damaging effects of pornography on the viewer, the actor and the partner.
